Grant Morrison to Pen Brave New World Adaptation for USA

Grant Morrison has been working in comics for over thirty years, taking on many of the biggest franchises from both Marvel and DC. Although he has some experience in scriptwriting, it’s only recently that he’s been moving into the realm of television, with the adaptation of Happy! beginning its second season in March. Now, Morrison is going to take a hands-on approach to his next project, which has just landed a series order from the USA Network.

Variety reports that USA has given a straight-to-series order to the upcoming television adaptation of Brave New World. The novel, written by Aldous Huxley, takes place in a futuristic utopia. When two curious explorers from New London decide to explore the “Savage Lands,” they set off a chain of events that could lead to the end of the world as they know it.

The series was initially pitched to Syfy, but the USA Network scooped up the series instead. Both companies are owned by Universal.

David Wiener (Fear the Walking Dead) and Brian Taylor (Happy!) join Morrison as confirmed writers for the show. Morrison and Wiener will also executive produce the series, alongside Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television and Owen Harris (Black Mirror).
