After five months of filming, principal photography on the spinoff film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has officially wrapped.
Stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham announced separately on their respective Instagram accounts that filming has ending on the Fast & Furious spinoff after beginning this past September in London.
Additionally, producer Hiram Garcia, who previously worked with Johnson as a producer on Fast 7 and Rampage, announced that Johnson’s next project will be the currently untitled sequel to 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
The upcoming spinoff film reportedly features Johnson’s Luke Hobbs and Statham’s Deckard Shaw entering an unlikely team-up to face a new threat in Idris Elba’s character, Brixton, in a mission that takes the duo to London. The new film will also introduce Deckard and Owen Shaw’s little sister, Hattie, as well as Hobbs’ little brother, portrayed by WWE professional wrestler Roman Reigns in his film debut.
Directed by David Leitch from a script by Chris Morgan, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw stars Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, Eiza Gonzalez and Roman Reigns. It is scheduled to be released on August 2.
