VIDEO: Here’s How We Think Nova Will Join the MCU

A lot of fans have been clamoring to see Nova join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although fans don’t know what Marvel Studios’ specific plans are for the character right now, it seems pretty likely that at least one version of the hero known as Nova will appear in the future, and we think we might just know how.

We don’t think that we’re going to have to wait much longer to see Nova, and we think that it’s most likely that we’re going to be getting Richard Rider as Nova. Created by Marv Wolfman and John Romita Sr., Rider first appeared in 1976’s The Man Called Nova #1.  The hero is a member of the international police force known as the Nova Corps and possesses superhuman abilities. There have been other versions of the character, including Sam Alexander — who debuted in 2011’s Marvel Point One #1 by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness.

We know from the events of Avengers: Infinity War that Thanos decimated the Nova Corps and Xandar in his quest for the Infinity Stones. This could directly tie into how Richard Rider will finally make his way to the MCU, as its directly related to the destruction of Xandar.

Check out the video below for more on our theory as to how Nova will join the MCU.

The MCU is bound to be a much different place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, and it’s likely that there will be a lot of new characters making their way to the big-screen. The Nova Corps appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy, so we know for a fact that they exist in the MCU. Plus, the cinematic universe definitely seems to be looking to expand its cosmic offerings going forward, and the indefinite delay of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 might just make the chances of Nova appearing in his own solo movie a little higher.
