Bill Skarsgard looks awesome as the Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman in a brand new piece of fan art.
With casting for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman underway, fans are wondering if they’ll be seeing Joker go toe-to-toe with Batman again. Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is out of the question because his character is intended to be kept isolated and not be branched into other films. Meanwhile, Jared Leto’s Joker most likely doesn’t have a place in the DCEU anymore and it would be awkward for his character to fight Robert Pattinson’s Batman considering he’s connected to Ben Affleck’s take on the character.
That leaves us with Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson wanting to find a new Joker to compliment the brand new, detective-focused route they’re taking. A frequent name brought up by fans is Bill Skarsgard, who most readers will know as Pennywise from IT. Bill Skarsgard is not only young and can compliment the cast of The Batman, but also has considerable experience playing a menacing clown. Seeing as Bill Skarsgard is already qualified for the job, he seems to be the perfect fit for The Joker. Recently, Instagram user “bobby_art” took to Instagram to share a brand new piece of fan art showing Bill Skarsgard as Joker, which sees him in simple clothes, though he still retains the iconic makeup.

One of the coolest things about this fan art is that the artist really downplayed the extremities of Pennywise and made Bill Skarsgard look almost normal as the Joker. It’s certainly an interesting look and should definitely be considered by The Batman director Matt Reeves if he decides to include the Clown Prince of Crime in his movies.
Unfortunately, there is no indication that Joker will appear in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. The film is expected to have a slew of villains — namely Catwoman, The Riddler and The Penguin –but there’s no concrete evidence that points towards Joker appearing in Robert Pattinson’s first outing as the Caped Crusader. Still, we can always imagine what Bill Skarsgard could look like as The Joker.

Plot details for The Batman are scarce. The film will reportedly center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy starring Robert Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Westworld star Jeffrey Wright was recently reported to be in talks for the role of Commissioner James Gordon.
The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard and other DC Films projects.
