Paul Feig recently backed up Leslie Jones’ angery comments towards Jason Reitman’s upcoming film Ghostbusters 3.
Next year, Juno and Thank You For Smoking director Jason Reitman is revisiting the franchise directed by his father over thirty years ago. Ghostbusters 3 will be a continuation of the original two films and it’s been presumed that the film will not tie into the controversial 2016 reboot of the franchise, simply titled Ghostbusters, which was directed by Bridesmaid‘s Paul Feig.
Shortly after the news broke that Jason Reitman would be helming Ghostbusters 3, Leslie Jones, who played one of the titular heroes in the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, took to social media to share her very honest thoughts towards the highly-anticipated new movie. Since then, director Paul Feig has taken to Twitter to show his support for Leslie Jones. Check out the directors’ comments on Leslie Jones’ thoughts and Jason Reitman’s new film in the post below.
An absolute honest to God never ending supply of bullshit and hate from these trolls. Leslie spoke her truth and I support her. I am very open to Jason’s new version of GB but am also sad that our 2016 team may not get to bust again. We all are. We’re forever proud of our movie. https://t.co/o1Ohz7rCVp

Ghostbusters 2016 was a film that caught quite a lot of flack months ahead of its release date. Although sequels to that film were planned, there has seemingly been no progress on a direct follow-up starring Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Melissa McCarthy since its release. Jason Reitman’s upcoming sequel Ghostbusters 3 is set to hit theaters next year but story details and new cast members have been kept under wraps thus far.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Ghostbusters 3 as soon as more information becomes available. Are you excited for Jason Reitman to bring the original franchise back to life or would you have preferred to see Paul Feig, Leslie Jones, and the rest of the Ghostbusters crew return for a sequel to the 2016 reboot? Let us know your thoughts and concerns in the comment section below!
Directed by Jason Reitman from a script he co-wrote with Poltergeist remake director Gil Kena, the new Ghostbusters project will begin filming in the coming months.
The Untitled Ghostbusters Sequel is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2020.
Suicide Squad Characters That Can Appear In The James Gunn Sequel
James Gunn is directing The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. but that comes at a cost.
When the first Suicide Squad was about to hit theaters DC fans were completely ecstatic. The trailers looked great and the feel of the movie was much different than the darkness that preceded it in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This movie was expected to be one of DC’s biggest hits and it turned out to be one of the biggest let-downs of all time.
Suicide Squad was bad and its reviews reflected that. It was one of the only movies I’ve ever been upset at and it made me want to leave the theater. A sequel was announced because the film did well at the box office, going through a number of drafts until James Gunn was brought on to write it. With James Gunn now officially set to direct The Suicide Squad, it looks like the film will be a bit of a soft reboot.
Last night was a bit of a DC maelstrom of news. We got the release dates and official titles of Matt Reeves’ The Batman and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Both movies will be hitting theaters in Summer 2021. Throughout all of the chaos a small tidbit surfaced about The Suicide Squad: the James Gunn-directed film will be some sort of relaunch with new characters and actors. Here are the characters I think James Gunn should introduce in his Suicide Squad movie. Hit Next to view all of my choices.
