The artist chose Bill Skarsgard for the Joker following rumors the villain will appear in Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ sequel.
IT star Bill Skarsgard gets an intense new look as the Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman in the intimidating new concept design.
With any new series of Batman films, there’s always a question of if and when the Joker will be introduced. One name that constantly pops up to play a new version of the villain is IT star Bill Skarsgard. It’s easy to see why, since he’s already played a villainous clown in the two movies directed by Andy Muschietti, as well as an intimidating role in Castle Rock. He’s not the only villain fans want to see in the Matt Reeves series, with many calling for Dave Bautista to play Bane, but that doesn’t seem likely according to the star. A new design pictures what the star would look like opposite Robert Pattinson for The Batman.
The new design from ‘saarukan.psd’ on Instagram puts Bill Skarsgard in the iconic makeup as the Clown Prince of Crime for The Batman. The artist points out that after the recent rumors the Joker will make an appearance in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman sequel, he’d like to see Skarsgard in a look inspired by both Mark Hamill’s animated villain as well as the one that appeared in the Arkham games. It’s hard to deny that the look would be intimidating if it became a reality, especially with Skarsgard’s tall frame. Take a look below.

Plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key but the project will be centered on Robert Pattinson as a younger Bruce Wayne, chronicling Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector. The Batman will also feature the hero making use of his detective skills more than what we’ve seen before in previous iterations of the character. It is also expected to be the first installment to a new Batman trilogy starring Pattinson.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
