The Flash star Ezra Miller currently isn’t under investigation for choking a woman, as seen in a viral video that surfaced online this week.
Yesterday, a video surfaced online that showed The Flash star Ezra Miller choking a woman and throwing her onto the ground. According to a source at the bar in Reykjavik, Iceland, where the incident took place, the actor was escorted from the premise after the incident.
Now, TheWrap has confirmed with local Reykjavik police that Ezra Miller is not under investigation for choking the woman. Furthermore, a detective at the police station in Reykjavik confirmed the woman in the video has not filed charges against The Flash actor. The outlet notes that representatives for Ezra Miller did not respond to its request for comment.
The incident prompted many responses from fans on social media and some suspect a Twitter post from former The Flash director John Francis Daley was intended to throw shade at the actor. The filmmaker and his working partner, Jonathan Goldstein, were tapped to helm the DC film before exiting the project over reported creative differences with Ezra Miller regarding the tone of the feature.
Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie was on track to begin production next month, but its start date will likely be delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint storyline. For those unaware, the Flashpoint comic book storyline followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.
The Flash is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on July 1, 2022.
