HBO Max Drops the First Teaser Trailer For House of the Dragon

Game of Thrones may be over, but the next chapter of the franchise is coming soon. The GoT prequel series, House of the Dragon, is heading to HBO and HBO Max in 2020. Now, fans have their first look at the show in a new teaser trailer from HBO Max.

Two hundred years before the events of GoT, the Targaryens ruled Westeros. Regardless of the Targaryens’ enemies within and outside the kingdom, their greatest foes may be each other. Only one king can sit on the Iron Throne, and he can’t hold it forever.

Paddy Considine stars as King Viserys I Targaryen, with Matt Smith as his brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen. Emma D’Arcy portrays Viserys’ daughter, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. Rhys Ifans is also briefly glimpsed in the trailer as the Hand of the King, Ser Otto Hightower. His daughter, Lady Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), also has a major role to play.

Additionally, Steve Toussaint co-stars as Lord Corlys Velaryon a.k.a. the “Sea Snake.” Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno,

Fabien Frankel, Graham McTavish, Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, and Gavin Spokes also star in the series.

House of the Dragon will hit HBO and HBO Max in 2022.
