Threezero Makes a Super-Articulated Voltron With Metal Parts

As a company, threezero frequently makes a name for itself with high-end upgrades of giant robot toys from other lines. Transformers and Power Rangers, to name just two notables, received expensive upgrades from the company for the ultimate in realism. (To the extent that one can call such things realistic, of course.) But now another famous giant robot that changes form and combines gets the treatment. It’s a super-articulated Voltron. And by super-articulated, we mean 124 points of articulation. Because the Defender of the Universe needs to flex. Robeasts, beware. The Lion Force arrives this October.

Furthermore, from the official description: “The Voltron: Defender of the Universe Voltron Robo-DOU Action Figure is designed to achieve a wide range of articulation and combining functions while maintaining the robot’s iconic retro aesthetic. Accurately simulating its appearance on-screen, Voltron is a non-scale, fully articulated action figure standing approximately 10 1/2-inches tall. Voltron features a remarkable die-cast metal frame and an impressive metallic finish. Voltron is composed of five Lion mecha that can be displayed on their own or combined to form Voltron! A unique set of weapons is included for each Lion, as well as weapons for Voltron mode.”

“All five Lion mecha are fully articulated with zinc alloy and metal parts for the movable joints. When combined, the five Lion mecha figures utilize 124 points of articulation.”

This breaks down as follows: Black Lion: 34 points of articulation. Red Lion: 25 points of articulation. Green Lion: 25 points of articulation. Yellow Lion: 20 points of articulation. Blue Lion: 20 points of articulation. That offers a ton of posing possibilities. Some pop-up surprises, too.

Check out more images in the gallery below. Voltron can strike a lot of stances! More than anyone might think, to look at him. Entertainment Earth and other sites now host preorders for $299.99.
