Time Is Almost Up in Zack Snyder’s Justice League Mother Box Teaser

Only a few weeks separate the fans from the long-awaited Zack Snyder’s Justice League. As their anticipation for the director’s cut goes off the charts, a new teaser was unveiled at IGN FanFest. The short video focuses on the Mother Boxes, the energy matrices of Apokoliptian origin. The 2017 theatrical film’s story featured three of them as they arrived with Steppenwolf during his first invasion of the Earth. The Justice League then uses them to revive Superman.

The freshly released video features Mother Box-generated images of the superpowered ensemble, to the tune of Tom Waits’s “Time.” The upcoming movie will see Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. An honorable mention goes to Ben Affleck’s Batman, who has been immortalized in a pose that resembles pretty much the one of Christian saint and martyr Saint Sebastian by Italian painter Andrea Mantegna.

Besides the original cast from the movie, Jared Leto will reprise his role as the Joker in the DC Extended Universe. The director thought that the character had so much potential that he decided to shoot some extra scenes to involve him in his long-awaited extended cut. However, the director made some tweaks to Leto’s look to make him more “road-weary” than in 2016’s Suicide Squad. And at FanFest he revealed he did not consult David Ayer about changing the character’s appearance.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will debut as a four-hour cut movie on HBO Max on March 18.
