Warner Bros. Releases New Action Shots From Godzilla vs. Kong

Who knows what Kong did to get on Godzilla’s bad side? Assuming that actually is the real Godzilla and not a certain mechanical decoy… Regardless, it seems like Warner Bros. wants to make the most of Godzilla vs. Kong’s impressive CGI-enhanced visuals before it hits HBO Max later this month. Via Collider, Warner Bros. has just released several new high resolution images from the film. Most of the shots proudly display the clashing titans in all their gargantuan glory, while others spotlight their human co-stars.

Most of the images offer new looks at the creatures’ big fight in the middle of Tokyo’s neon-flecked cityscape. But one of the more interesting shots finds Kong on his own, standing on top of a cliff overlooking what might be the Hollow Earth. This location was first mentioned in Kong: Skull Island in 2017. According to the theory, all the world’s giant monsters came from a region hidden somewhere beneath the planet’s surface. However, it looks like Godzilla vs. Kong will actually peel back the curtain on this unforgiving landscape.

Many kaiju fans have complained that WB and Legendary’s MonsterVerse films pay too much attention to their human characters. Despite this, there’s no denying that Godzilla vs. Kong boasts a talented cast of top-notch performers. So it’s hard not to get excited about who will be present this time around. Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler reprise their Godzilla: King of the Monsters roles as Madison Russell, and her father, Mark Russell. Brown is joined in several photos by franchise newcomers Julien Dennison (Deadpool 2) and Brian Tyree Henry (Eternals). Other cast additions include Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, Eiza González, Demián Bichir, Shun Oguri, and Kaylee Hottle.

Godzilla vs. Kong arrives in theaters and on HBO Max on March 31.
